Awesome Home Remedies For Psoriasis

But does it really work? You may look for an answer on the internet, but the sheer load of information available merely adds to the confusion. The promise of home remedies is acutely tempting – after all, who wouldn’t want to take care of Psoriasis right at home? 

Believe it or not: home remedies do in fact work. For centuries, these remedies have been passed down from generation to generation. If they were ineffective, they would not have survived. These home remedies have survived the test of time. The ingredients used to prepare these remedies are available in most kitchens. Today, let’s talk about some simple natural remedies for the problem of Psoriasis which you can prepare and apply right at home!

Home remedies for Psoriasis 

1. Coconut Oil: This commonly available ingredient can become an invaluable partner in your fight against Psoriasis. Coconut oil is a potent moisturizer. It will help prevent dryness and minimize the itchiness. It will also get rid of the ugly white scales which form because of Psoriasis.  
• Wash the affected skin carefully with lukewarm water and then gently dry it.
• Put 4 tablespoons of coconut oil in a pan and warm it slightly.
• Dip a cotton ball in the oil and slowly apply it on your skin.
• Wait for 15 minutes and then wash it off with water. 

2. Aloe Vera: The nutrients present in the gel-like substance found in the aloe vera plant is renowned for its ability to bring down the autoimmune inflammatory reaction and thus reduce the occurrence of Psoriasis flare-ups. Aloe vera can also cut down the recovery time and ensure that your skin will regain its previous texture and suppleness.

• Slice open an aloe vera leaf and squeeze out the gel.
• Apply the gel on the skin for 2 minutes. 
• Leave it undisturbed for the night.
• Wash it off with water in the morning. 
• Do this once every 2 days. 

3. Baking soda: If you are fed up with the itchiness and irritation, then you should definitely try out this remedy. Applying it will primarily reduce the itchy sensation and gradually minimize skin irritation. 

• Take 1 teaspoon of baking soda and mix it with 4 teaspoons of water.
• Mix it well.
• Dip a cotton ball in the mixture.
• Gently rub the ball on the affected area in circular motions.
• Leave it untouched for 15 minutes and then wash the skin with water. 

4. Turmeric: It is known to have potent anti-inflammatory properties that may help control the ugly symptoms of Psoriasis. Curcumin is the active ingredient in turmeric, which is chiefly responsible for its therapeutic power.

• Mix 2 teaspoons of turmeric powder in a cup of milk.
• Add 4 teaspoons of honey and mix well.
• Using a cotton ball, apply the mixture on the skin.
• Wait for 15 minutes and wash it off with water. 

5. Papaya: This fruit is a known source of powerful anti-oxidants. It helps in purifying the body and restoring digestive function. Using papaya, you can gain control over the inflammation and help reduce the intensity of the associated symptoms.

• Mix half-a-cup of ripe mashed papaya with 2 teaspoons of honey and 2 tablespoons of curd.
• Apply the mixture on the affected area. 
• Leave it one for 15 minutes and then wash it off with cool water.
